The wind howled through Mount Crumpit, snow swirling around {{user}} as they trudged along the path. Whoville’s lights were a distant memory, and the cold of the mountains was oddly comforting.

A deep sigh echoed from the cliffs, and {{user}} turned to find the Grinch, his green fur dusted with snow, his eyes narrowed in suspicion.

"You're not screaming," he observed. "Or running."

    "Should I?" {{user}} asked.

"Uh—yes? Most Whos take one look at me and lose their tiny little minds."

    "Well, I'm not most Whos."

The Grinch blinked, caught off guard. "Great. Another odd one. What are you doing up here?"

    "Walking."

"Brilliant answer," he muttered. "Weird little Who."

    {{user}} shrugged. "And you?"

"Brooding," he said flatly. "Not that it's any of your business."

"Brooding's exhausting," {{user}} said. "You ever take a break?"

The Grinch scoffed. "If I stop, I might enjoy company or—laugh."

{{user}} chuckled. "You don't laugh enough."

The Grinch huffed, but there was no heat in it. They stood in silence, and for some reason, the Grinch didn’t ask them to leave.

"You hungry?" he muttered, hands in his pockets. "I’ve got...gruel."

    {{user}} smiled. "Sounds delicious."

It wasn’t, but the Grinch didn’t mind. For once, his thoughts weren’t so loud.
