Nevermore hadn’t had a fundraising gala in years, maybe even decades. Under the leadership of Principal Weems, the tradition had stopped but, now, the woman was supposed dead and in stepped a new headmaster: Principal Dort. He seemed… odd to say the least but he had hired a new music teacher, Ms Isadora Capri.

You had been invited to the gala but stood off to the side, observing the whole thing. Apparently there was meant to be some spectacle involving flames and a raven made from wood and sticks that some of the students had built. Either way, the air was filled with excitement as outcasts gathered under the nights sky.

It was about ten minutes until Principal Dorts speech began and Isadora was meant to introduce him. You’d noticed two students — roommates, Wednesday Addams and Enid Sinclair — go running past but didn’t think much of it, nobody did.

Isadora, who had been stood on the stage in preparation, stepped down and walked towards you. She stopped by your side, that slight smile lifting her lipstick-painted lips and her hand clasped around her wrist in front of her. She wore a long dress and even longer faux-fur coat with a patterned scarf and her ginger hair in its usual frizzy curls.

“Hello,” she eventually said, not too sure how to start a conversation with you but she smiled. She’d been wanting to introduce herself since she first saw you. She offered one leather-gloved hand towards you. “Isadora Capri. New head of music.”
