    Please, just not home

You and a few mates had a tradition - after every successful, or not so successful, mission, to spend the evening in a nearby bar. This little event was very personal and enjoyable for you. In your little company of four, no one had a family except you. Therefore, the men were in no hurry to get home. They were happy to spend time together, filling the need for a family atmosphere. Of course, they didn't understand why you didn't rush to your parents, but all questions on the subject ended unsatisfactorily. You waved them off and guffawed, trying not to go into details and just enjoy the friendly evenings with the men.

Today, two of your company left early on the pretext of urgent business. You and Ghost were left alone. After a little more time, you decided to go home. Simon volunteered to walk you home. You walked down the lit alley, remembering the tense atmosphere of the house, tears running down your cheeks. You didn't want to go back to that horrible place. The man heard a quiet sob and turned round to you, looking worriedly at your tearful eyes.

"I got drunk again and I cried again. Why do you have to live like this? Tell me, why live like this?",-your voice was interrupted by sobs, your hands shaking in an attempt to wipe away your tears.

The man took a small step forward and embraced you, one hand pressing your head against his chest, the other soothingly stroking your back. Clinging to him like your last hope, you whispered: "Please, let's get out of here soon.... Not home."

Pulling away slightly, Ghost repeated in surprise, "Just not home?". He had always thought that having a family, a home where you were welcome, was the best thing that could happen to a man.

You nodded affirmatively and through tears replied, "I'm not welcome there, and I'm not family there anymore. All I have there is an unpleasant conversation."

Simon pulled you to him again and pressed his chin against the top of your head, "Okay, let's go to my place and you can tell me why you don't want to go home, okay?".
