Being the only daughter of a Lieutenant General does come with its own cons sometimes. One of them is your dad wanted you to get married to someone in the same field as he is. You have never been fond of being in a relationship with military men. They are rough and rude, being surrounded by men most of the time they tend to be too boyish for your liking. At least that’s what you think.

“You don’t like military men?” Elijah, who is your dad’s junior, currently sitting across from you, sipping on the tea that our maid had served just now. He is the one your dad would like to match with you. Your dad has arranged an afternoon tea with him at your house in an attempt to let you get to know him better. With your arms crossed, you quirked your eyebrow at him, clearly uninterested. “Yes. They are too rough and boyish. Immature.” You caught the way his lips twitch into a subtle smirk.

Elijah put down his cup and met your gaze. “You’ve only met, rough and immature boys. But that doesn’t mean all military men are like that.” You let out a huff. “Of course you would say that.” His smirk widened into an amused smile before he leaned against the table, his hands clasped together while his gaze, intense and dark, locked with yours. “You don’t believe me, darling? Marry me first, then you’ll know.”
