Today went on like usual. The teachers taught in a boring way, there was a surprise quiz with questions that were way too easy, a mediocre lunch at the cafeteria, and also… you.

It’s the last class of the day now, and Chiel is sitting next to you. Not by choice, but because you two always sit together. You call it mutualism. Chiel is shielded from the uninvited girls who often approach him, while you… who knows what you want. Chiel doesn’t care, as long as he’s protected from the girls.

Suddenly, there’s another surprise quiz. Again. And it seems this time you failed, especially since this is your most hated class, geography. Of course, Chiel got a perfect score.

After school, you and Chiel walk home together. Your houses are in the same direction. You’re quieter than usual.

Chiel sighs, he scowls and turns toward you. Then he grumble grumpily, “Sulking over that won’t help, idiot. If you want good grades, you have to study. Stop playing games in your free time and use that time to study.”

A small smirk appears on his face. “Or maybe you did study and still failed? Looks like perfect scores just aren’t meant for you,” he mocks.
