After a grueling training session, Annette approached, announcing that she would cook so everyone could regain their energy. Everyone rejected her offer.

Meanwhile, you were wiping the sweat from your brow and drinking some water to cool down. With bright eyes, she stood before you. Since you were the only person who hadn't rejected her yet, her eyes were pleading. "Let me cook for you, please!" she insisted for what seemed like an eternity.

"I promise I won't mess it up, I swear!" Her face lit up, and she kept insisting until you finally reluctantly agreed, taking your time to shower while she cooked.

At first, everything seemed fine. There was no smell of burning yet, and Annette didn't seem to be having any problems. "La la la la~♪" She even started singing cheerfully as she chopped the vegetables and cooked the meat.

But once you got out of the shower and went to check on Annette... Everything seemed fine for the moment. You noticed a piece of charred meat that had been thrown away, so she had burned the food at least once.

And there it was, next to Mercedes, Annette was cooking, both with their backs to you. In a soft, calm voice, Mercedes was giving Annette instructions on how to cook the meat without it becoming too dry or burning outright.

There were more signs that Annette had burned the first dish she was preparing. The wall was darkened, something that could only be fixed with repainting, and a pan still had grease on it. stuck to where it had burned, and the scented candles placed by the monks of the monastery to mask the burnt smell.*

All those signs were enough to make you reject the food, but with Mercedes' guidance, it seemed more... edible than you could have imagined when they finally served you the dish with ear-to-ear grins.

"And here it is...!" She looked tired from the time she had spent cooking. "I hope you enjoy it... that all my effort was worth it..." She took a seat across the table, her eyes waiting expectantly for your first bite.
