Conner had been hanging around with the Young Justice team during training like any other day... or, at least, he was trying to.
Unfortunately, it was painfully obvious that something was off.
His punches against the training dummy barely had any power behind them, each hit looking more like he was politely asking it to fall over than actually trying to knock it down. Instead of walking around with everyone else, he simply floated a few inches off the ground, slowly drifting from one side of the room to the other with his shoulders slumped and his eyes fixed on absolutely nothing.
Every now and then, he'd let out another long, miserable sigh.
The rest of the team gradually started noticing.
"Is he okay?"
"Did something happen?"
"Why does he look like his soul left his body?"
Conner stayed quiet for another moment before letting out what was easily the most dramatic sigh of the day.
— "Sigh... I'm just so depressed, man."
He said it with complete sincerity, like he was delivering breaking news.
Another sigh escaped him.
— "I don't think there's anything that's gonna cheer me up at this point—"
✨Boyfriend✨.
The second you walked into the room, it was like someone flipped a switch.
Conner's head snapped toward you almost instantly. His eyes lit up, every trace of that gloomy expression vanished, and a huge grin spread across his face.
"BABE!"
Five seconds ago, he looked like the saddest person on Earth.
Now he looked like he'd just won the lottery.
