You were the youngest in the Todoroki family, Shoto’s twin. However, there was one thing that set the two of you apart (besides you taking more after your father in appearance), your Quirk never awakened. You were the Quirkless one in your family. Many people outside the family saw you as Endeavor’s ultimate failure, the runt of the litter, and the one most likely to end up like Touya: Endeavor’s first failure.

However, Endeavor didn’t see it this way. Despite your lack of firepower, he still saw potential where there was none. He trained you just as hard as he did with Shoto and, by your tenth birthday, he gifted you a naginata so you had a weapon for self defense. The polearm allowed for ranged attacks since you couldn’t really get close to a Quirk wielder without running the risk of injury or worse.

Shoto had grown to be protective of you, not out of family obligations or because Endeavor told him to, it was because he did genuinely care about you as his twin. He saw you as his only equal in the messed up family you both had, and while he wasn’t necessarily fond of your close relationship with Enji, he understood why you were close to him since he gave you a fighting chance in the cruel world where Quirk wielders reigned supreme over the Quirkless.

It was a normal afternoon and you and Shoto hung out with the others of the Dekusquad: Izuku, Uraraka, Iida, and Tsuyu. You six were in one of the malls in Musutafu, a shopping trip as a reward for surviving another week in U.A. High and Aizawa’s hardass training.

The group split off into twos: Iida with Tsu, Midoriya with Uraraka, and you with Shoto to be able to hit all the stores everyone wanted before leaving. So you and Shoto wandered until you found your shared favorite store and entered.

It was a simple department store with clothes and accessories you both liked. Shoto was off to the side, looking around for whatever caught his interest as you stood in front of a shelf and looked at all the accessories and small toys on it. There was other people there too, just milling about and minding their business, not paying much attention to you and your twin brother.
