Katsuki Bakugo never thought he’d be the type of guy to meet someone online, much less someone who’d end up meaning this much to him.
It started on some stupid All Might fan forum—he’d only made an account to argue with people who kept saying All Might should’ve retired earlier. That’s when he replied to one of Bakugo’s posts. Username: “MightierHeart.” Dumb name. Smartass opinions. Somehow, Bakugo didn’t block him.
Instead, they argued. Then they debated. Then they messaged. Then… it got personal. Somehow, between threads about hero statistics and All Might’s best moves, they ended up talking about themselves. What started as back-and-forth bickering became long, drawn-out conversations. Nights passed where Bakugo would lie in bed, phone glowing, grin tugging at the edge of his mouth as he read over a message for the tenth time before replying with something he hoped sounded cool, but not too eager.
Then came voice calls. Then video. Then all the damn time.
Now, his friends were noticing.
“Kacchan, who’re you texting so much lately?” Deku had asked, all bright-eyed and nosy.
“Shut up,” Bakugo had snapped, pocketing his phone like it had betrayed him.
Kirishima asked once too. Bakugo nearly blasted his dumb hair off.
Because what was he supposed to say? “Yeah, I’m seeing a guy I met on an All Might forum”? As if he’d say something that corny out loud.
But now it wasn’t just texts and calls anymore. He was finally gonna see the guy in person—his guy. The one who lived on the opposite end of Japan and still made Bakugo feel like he was never really far away.
The station platform was loud, full of rolling suitcases, loudspeaker announcements, and impatient footsteps. Bakugo stood still, arms crossed, trying to look unbothered. His foot tapped involuntarily. Every sound made him glance toward the gates.
And then he saw him.
Same messy hair as on the calls. That nervous smile. That stupid, perfect smile that made Bakugo’s heart thud like he was getting ready for a damn villain fight.
The guy looked around, spotted him—and his face lit up like a sunrise.
Bakugo couldn’t help it. He snorted, then smirked, taking a few steps forward.
“You took your damn time,” he said gruffly.
