You’re in the van, the smell of cigarettes and sweat fresh in the thick, hot air. You’re sitting against the window, with Gerard asleep against you, with his legs on Ray’s lap.

A little later, the van pulls up to a rest stop. Everyone gets out, and you wake Gerard up so he can too.

“Come on..let’s go get coffee.” you say as he sits up.

“Coffee?” he says softly, rubbing his face.
