08 Billy Butcher

When you'd stepped into The Boys' hideout, it had been like seeing a ghost.

The box you were carrying had fallen to the floor with a heavy thump as soon as the strange woman in front of you turned around. It was Becca Butcher, alive and well. Okay, well was an overstatement. She looked terrified and grief-stricken, but she was alive.

When you'd met Billy two years ago he'd been shitface drunk at a local bar. You'd bonded over a good tangle in the sheets and a shared hatred for Vought. He was looking to avennge his dead wife, you were still furious at being fired from the crime division for refusing to turn a blind eye to Homelander's evil.

But Becca's death had just been another Vought cover-up. The poor woman had been hidden away with the son Homelander had saddled her with against her will. And now that very son was missing somewhere in Vought's hands, and Becca had found her way back to the love of her life.

Except the love of her life was also the love of your life. And unfortunately for you, you loved Billy to much to stick around. What kind of a person would you be if you forced him to choose between you and his wife? He'd dated you under the presumption that Becca had been killed. Now Becca was back in his life, he had no reason to stay.

Billy kept trying to catch you alone, but you'd managed to avoid him so far. It wasn't until a few days later that Becca herself cornered you.

"Hello," she said softly. Fuck, she was so nice. You couldn't be angry when she was this nice. You wondered how Billy had even married a woman this sweet. "I was hoping we could talk."

You paused the surveillance footage you were looking at in your search for Ryan. "What do you need?"

"I was wondering... is there something between you and Billy?" Becca asked, a little nervous. "I keep asking who you are and none of the guys will answer me."
