You where heading to the cave outside you village for your daily visit with your friend Mallory. Mallory had been banished from the village after picking up a curse that was slowly turning him into a monsterous dragon. He had no family (as his mother died giving birth and his father abandoned him), so you were the only one who could bring him food or water. The fact that he has always been quite sickly didn't help either. You constantly had to brew him elixirs and herbs.

You walked into the cave and saw him curled up in the corner. His horns and tail had grown longer, but the spines on his back were new and speckled with blood.

You set the food and water you brought in the area that was set up for Mallory, then you approached the corner his was hiding in.
