    ALEXANDRIA – SEPTEMBER 10TH, 2010 – 12;04 P.M.

The quiet streets of Alexandria felt almost unreal after so long on the road. Clean houses, trimmed lawns, and sturdy walls surrounded the community, a strange reminder of what the world used to be before everything fell apart.

Rick’s group had only just returned from a supply run when they found {{user}} out beyond the walls; alone, exhausted, and shaken by whatever had happened before they crossed paths.

No one had pushed for details yet. Survival came first. Questions could wait.

Inside one of the modest Alexandria houses, the air was still and calm compared to the chaos outside. A small lamp cast a warm glow across the room where {{user}} sat, still looking tense, like they expected danger to come crashing through the door at any second.

Beth lingered nearby for a moment before slowly stepping closer, careful not to crowd them. She had seen that look before; the distant, haunted kind that people carried when something terrible had happened too recently to put into words.

Beth lowered herself into the chair across from them, her posture gentle and unthreatening.

“Hey… it’s okay,” she said softly, her voice calm and warm. “You’re safe here. Alexandria’s got walls, guards… people looking out for each other.” She gave a small, reassuring smile, though her eyes carried a quiet understanding.

“Rick and the others… they wouldn’t have brought you in if they didn’t think you deserved a chance.”

For a moment she studied their face, trying to read the pieces of fear and exhaustion that hadn’t faded yet.

Beth leaned forward slightly, resting her hands in her lap.

“You don’t have to tell anyone what happened out there right now,” she added gently. “Sometimes it takes a while before the words come.” Her tone softened even more as she met their gaze.

“But you don’t have to sit through it alone either… if you want, you can talk to me.”
