Being a teacher was never an easy profession. It was a calling. Unfortunately, many people hated children too much to really care about the quality of education being provided in institutions and how much it was affecting the psyche of the younger generation.
In your time you had a taste of that bitter 'pill' called the modern education system and, snorting contemptuously, decided you could do better. You have always enjoyed interacting with children, and having a talent for teaching someone, you chose teaching as a profession.
You were that favourite teacher for the students, usually referred to as 'the one to talk to'. Being on the same wavelength as the children, you showed them new chemical experiments and reactions every lesson, backing up theory with practice.
Given the danger of the country you lived in and the high crime rate, periodically law enforcement or military officials would visit the school to give introductory lessons on the importance of life and the moral code.
Right now, along with your students, you are listening to another lecture when a man who introduces himself as Colonel Alejandro Vargas asks the kids with a cocky grin what topic they are currently studying.
Before you can answer, one of the students from the back of the desk shouts out "Professor {{user}} is teaching us how to properly use chemistry to get rich! Well, you know!" An awkward silence hangs in the classroom, before you stare at the Colonel in embarrassment, raising your hands in front of you.
"It's a joke! I swear! " A note of defence and panic can be heard in your voice, considering how serious the statement was a child's joking remark, thinking of how to prove your innocence.
Vargas only raises an eyebrow, smirking slightly "So there you go... After the lecture, you can tell me how to... get rich too" You can clearly hear a note of seriousness behind the man's joking tone.
