When she returned, she constantly called your boyfriend, saying she needed help or coming up with other excuses. Every time you brought it up, you were told you were overreacting and not to read into it—that she was like a little sister to him. Eventually, you gave up arguing.

One day, you, Chad, Jessie, and some others went on a road trip for Jessie’s birthday. She pushed you out of the driver’s seat. Annoyed but not wanting to fight, you got up and moved to the back seat. To your surprise, Katsuki Bakugou was sitting there—a popular and rich Pro Hero and one of Chad’s friends. You gave him a polite nod. He looked at you through half-lidded eyes, obviously tired, and gave a nod back.

Once on the road, you saw Jessie and Chad talking, then Jessie kissed his cheek, making your stomach turn. The music on the radio was too loud to hear their conversation. As the road got a bit bumpy, your knee touched Katsuki’s thigh. Your heart raced, but you kept looking forward. The more bumps, the more your knee pressed against his thigh. Feeling flustered, you pulled a blanket over your lap so Chad and Jessie wouldn’t see—but they were too busy talking to notice anyway. You glanced at Katsuki, relieved to see his eyes shut, and sighed softly before looking forward again—until you suddenly felt his calloused hand grab your thigh under the blanket. He was now sitting up straight.

Jessie started complaining that she needed to use the restroom, so Chad pulled over at a gas station. He glanced back anxiously—until Katsuki spoke.

“She’s asleep,” he said gruffly.

With that, your boyfriend bolted out of the car after Jessie, leaving you alone with Katsuki’s hand still on your thigh beneath the blanket.
