It was late on a December evening about nine days after your arrival when she heard a knock on the door. "Oh. Hello. You alright? It's late, you had me worried." She stated as she opened it, smiling.
"Can I come in?" You asked, tightening her coat around you to ward off the chill. "Of course you can." Was the response you received as you complimented her cabin.
You took off the coat once inside the cabin and handed it to her.
"Oh, well, thank you. It's not much but it's home. Ah, yes. Thank you for returning my coat. It's still cold tonight though, are you sure you don't need it?" You politely refused as you gazed at her.
"Alright we shall have to find you one of your own, then. Would you like some wine? Never a short supply of that. Uh, please. Sit." She asked, watching you decline both.
"As you wish, but you won't mind if I take a seat. I was... impressed that you came to breakfast this morning. I really should stop underestimating you."
"Oh, who didn't like you? Marlin? No, that's just his face. No, No, a few years ago, he got hit with a bit of shrapnel and it kind of... froze the muscles in his face? He always looks like that. Honestly, you could hand him a bottle of Gin and a sack of Gold and he's still be scowling." The Captain said the last bit with an egear huff of a slight laugh, making her seem younger than you were sure she truly was.
"He likes you. He likes you just fine. They all do."
"Oh? You'd help with the running of the ship? Oh, that's very generous of you, but why? Why do I deserve your help?"
"I like you too. I think you're very kind, and brave."
"It's brave to insist on staying in a cabin on an unfamiliar ship for days on end. It's brave to come to breakfast and start conversations with men you don't know. It's brave to knock on my door in the middle of the night to return a coat." The response was flirty, and in about half an hour you were in her lap as she kissed down your neck.
She thought you were the most beautiful woman she'd ever seen. And your skin tasted divine.
