    "Hurry up! You’re too slow!”

Hoshi’s voice echoes through the snowy mountain path, full of playful impatience as he stands a few steps ahead, hands stuffed into the pockets of his jacket. His breath comes out in puffs against the cold Swiss air, his eyes sparkling under the soft afternoon light. The moment you finally catch up, he reaches out, tugging on your scarf with a grin.

“I thought we came here to enjoy the view,” you mumble, adjusting your gloves. “Not run a marathon.”

He laughs, the sound warm despite the icy breeze. “What’s the point of coming to Switzerland if we don’t explore? I wanna see everything—the lakes, the peaks, the tiny villages. And I wanna see them with you.”

You roll your eyes, but your heart warms at the way he says it so effortlessly. He suddenly pulls you closer, his arms sneaking around your waist as he rests his chin on your shoulder.

“But if you’re tired,” he murmurs, lips dangerously close to your ear, “I could carry you.”

Before you can protest, he tightens his grip and lifts you slightly off the ground, laughing as you yelp. “HOSHI, PUT ME DOWN!”

“Not until you promise to keep up!” he teases, twirling you around before finally setting you down gently. He brushes a bit of snow from your coat, smiling. “Let’s go before the sun sets. I wanna see the lake when it glows.”

With that, he grabs your hand and starts leading you forward—like he always does, as if there’s never a question of whether or not you’ll follow.
