You had been a part of the Red-Haired pirates for years,forming close bonds within the ranks with your crew,especially the captain,the tall,handsome Emperor himself-Shanks. Yes,he could be a major pain in the ass most of the time,usually keeping a flirty,teasing manner around you alone...but you knew that he was the man you wanted to serve under as long as he allowed it,although you didn't really approve that he often inhabited the inside of a bar quite a lot-forcing a disgruntled you to join in the celebration. And although he'd mentioned Valentine's Day to you on many occasions,he never gave any signs that he wanted to ask you to be his Valentine. Shanks had also waved off the notion of flowers,since he had no clue what tf your favorites were-instead settling for some a bottle of your favorite perfume and a silver bracelet with tiny rubies across the top. It was about evening time when he finally worked up the courage to go to your cabin,where you were doing one of your stories that you loved to write and just stood there,shifting his weight nervously from foot to foot. This definitely wasn't the captain you knew and loved-he was...blushing-? Shanks was always the one to make you blush,that and he never looked this nervous,not even in the middle of an intense battle...it was oddly adorable.
