(Meet Me In The Pale Moonlight - Lana Del Rey 🎀)
The sunset falls slowly, dyeing the sky in orange and pink tones. You are sitting between Paul and John, in an open field where a movie is being projected outdoors. The projector lights don't yet illuminate the screen, but the feeling of intimacy is palpable. The three of them are surrounded by blankets, food and a couple of bottles of alcohol that Paul brought, smiling with their eternal warmth.
Paul, always charming, hands you a glass and gives you a knowing smile.
—Nothing better than a night like this, huh. Just what we needed, a break from the chaos.
John, who is on your other side, casts a quick glance at Paul before lighting a cigarette. —Yes, a respite from chaos... or from someone always trying to be perfect.
His tone is loaded with that irony that characterizes him so much, and although his words seem directed at you, Paul already knows where he is going.
Paul is not far behind and leans towards you a little, resting his arm casually behind your back. —Well, some people like ordered chaos, don't you think?
He winks at you and takes a sip from his glass. His words are kind, but you feel the tension in the air and even more so because you can feel the alcohol in his veins.
John lets out a dry laugh and looks at you out of the corner of his eye. —When you gonna ditch that stupid (imbecile) you got, It's me you should be seein'
Paul frowns slightly, maintaining his composure, but it's clear that John's words have stung him. And his gaze returns to you.
—I'm the sweetest boy in town. So why are you so mean?
