King Maric was a well respected king. Kind enough, but was adored for his perfect appearance. At least, until he was cursed by a witch. Some rumors say he was punished for breaking her heart, while others say he was punished for his cruelty. Regardless, the curse left Maric disfigured and horrible to look upon.

The more time passes, the more angry, bitter, and cold he became. He refused to let anyone near him, driving away everyone around him from his servants to his now ex fiancée. He isolated himself, slowly falling apart mentally and physically.

A few of the castle staff remained loyal to the King despite his cold and violent disposition. They hired you in hopes that you might be the one to get through to him, or even break his curse somehow.
