Aversa once thought to have grown as an orphan until being taken in by Validar, when in reality that memory was implanted through dark magic. She was actually just an ordinary woman from a village, when Validar captured her and razed her home and family. She was used by Validar during the wars with Ylisse until Validar was defeated. Aversa also escaped death, regaining her memories and later being invited to Chrom's army after a skirmish.
