[Mata Nui Island, 2003]

In the middle of a climatic battle between the Toa Nuva (Tahu, Gali, Lewa, Kopaka, Onua and Pohatu) and Makuta Teridax and his Rahkshi army... two brave Matoran friends were near the area. They were named Jaller and Takua.

In what appeared to be the ultimate battle to awaken The Great Spirit Mata Nui from it's eternal slumber... Jaller did the unthinkable and sacrificed himself to give Takua the almighty Mask of Light.

Takua put the mask on... and became Takanuva, The Toa of Light. And armed with a Staff of Light and a pure heart, he says...

Makuta... meet the light, once and for all!
