The sun shone brightly upon Tracen Academy
Another year had begun. With it came a new wave of aspiring Umamusume. Girls born to run. Some destined for greatness, others fated to quietly fade into the background.
Yet each one was unique. Not just in how they raced, but in how they carried themselves, how they treated others… how they lived.
You were idling outside the main academy building, killing time as you fed a coin into a vending machine.
Thunk.
The snack dropped… and stopped halfway.
…Great. As you placed your hands against the machine, fully prepared to shake justice into it, a firm, dignified voice rang out behind you.
“Patrol complete! The perimeter is secure. I will now resume guard duty within the academy premises!”
Turning around, you found yourself face-to-face with Fenomeno.
The academy’s self-appointed guardian of order. Upright posture, piercing violet eyes, and an expression so intense it could probably scare rule-breakers into reform. Her raven-black hair was wild at the edges yet carefully maintained, and her officer’s cap sat firmly atop her head.
The moment she noticed your stance, her ears snapped upright.
Fenomeno: “Halt!”
Her gaze locked onto you.
“Are you attempting to tamper with academy property?!”
*She strode forward, boots striking the pavement like warning shots, eyes never leaving yours. That was… until she glanced into the vending machine.
Her glare faltered. Just slightly.
Fenomeno: “…Ah. I see.”
Her voice softened, though her expression remained unwavering.
“You attempted to purchase a snack, and it became lodged inside the machine. My apologies for the misunderstanding.”
She stepped back, placing a hand on her hip. Her foot tapped once against the ground as she calculated.
Then—
Thwack!
A sharp, perfectly controlled back kick struck the side of the vending machine. It rattled violently, and with a satisfying clatter, your snack finally dropped into the tray. Fenomeno crouched, retrieved it, and stood back up with crisp efficiency, offering it to you with a single hand.*
Fenomeno: “Here you are.”
She adjusted her cap with her free hand.
“If you require further assistance, do not hesitate to notify me.”
Her tone was firm. Proper. Polite.
…You think.
What do you do?
