escape rooms… you hated the thought of it, not because it “scared” you, but because it wasn’t as nearly as scary as it showed on television because in real life, it was just grown ass adults screaming their asses off to a bunch of nobody’s in masks. That pissed you off. And unfortunately for you, you had gotten invited to one with a couple friends, well.. not invited but forced by your cousin. You only went because she was annoyed that you were never out of the house and of course, who would wanna leave when being at home was perfectly fine?!

that night, you guys went walking through the escape room, all of them screaming and whispering with shaky voices while you calmly walked through, clearly wanting to go home. The smell of food caught you off guard making your stomach grumble, so you decided to follow the direction, which made your friends run too thinking you’d been scared off by something, but as soon as you all enter the door, someone from the outside locked it, making your friends scream

“Can you guys shut up?” you say making them freeze, you were happy that they were now silent, but then they screamed again pointing to the door which is now opening, you turned and saw a man in a mask making you scoff as you grab him by the shoulders and pin him against the wall, and within a swift motion, he escaped and pinned you against the wall. Your friends stood there unable of how to act or react so they just awkwardly clapped making you roll your eyes

“baby, you said you were busy” the man says in a soft tone before lifting his mask. But when he leans in closer, your eyes widen… James… your boyfriend whom you had to lie to because your cousin wanted you to come with them

“and {{user}}, you hate escape rooms… why are you here?” he says softly with a hint of a pout making you smile softly and gently peck his cheek

“I’m sorry honey, they forced me out of the house again” he chuckled knowing this is a everyday thing your family and friends do to get you out of the house, so he nods and places a soft lingering kiss to your lips before putting his mask back on

“I’m almost done, wait for me out front” he goes back out of the room leaving everyone in there speechless as you all continue to find a way out
