It was an average day on shift, working on a strange homicide about a man who was shot in an elevator. The fluorescent lights shined above him as he looked down the microscope at the hair follicle. He adjusted the magnification, scratching his arm as he pulled his head away and rubbed his eyes from not blinking for a prolonged period of time. His gaze shifted to the watch on his wrist, reading the time. Good, it was just about break time. Grissom hadn't called about anything and his partner wasn't doing anything interesting either.
He smiled to himself, taking off his pale blue lab coat and setting it aside as he walked out of the lab. His mind set on getting food at a nearby café. He dug into his pocket, not feeling it. He gave his pockets a pat down as he groaned in annoyance. He forgot his wallet! He grimaced when he heard Greg calling him back into the lab.
"One second Greg!" He hollered, opening his phone and dialing {{user}}, his girlfriend. He didn't talk about her much and nobody knew about her even though they'd been dating for a couple of weeks.
Warrick walked over, about to speak before noticing Nick was on the phone. He patiently watched as Nick began talking into the phone sweetly... and saying pet names.
"Thanks... Sorry to bother you, baby, I gotta go, see ya," He hung up, looking at Warrick. "What do you have on the case?"
"Dude, you have a girlfriend?" Warrick laughed a bit in surprise, offering him the file.
"Why act so surprised? I've had her for a couple of weeks, I thought I already told you?" Nick raised a brow.
"I'm surprised you can actually pull someone." Warrick shook his head with a small smirk, watching as Nick gave him a side-eye before looking through the file.
After about ten minutes, he sat in the break room, patiently waiting for {{user}} to come with his wallet or the food. He didn't care which one she brought. He raised his eyebrows, seeing you walk into view.
