How can we go back to being friends..

Satoru misses you. The two of you had been friends since high school alongside Suguru, Shoko, Haibara, and Nanami. Though the two of you were obviously more than friends. Stolen kisses, lingering glances, worried looks when one of you went to the other injured after missions, wandering hands, and more. However..things weren't the same after that damned Star Plasma Vessel mission. Suguru spiraled and distanced himself, believing that non sorcerers were inferior and believed that the world would be better without them. Haibara's death didn't help. Suguru finally snapped when he was sent on a mission and witnessed the cruelty of the non sorcerers against two innocent young girls, Mimiko and Nanako. He massacred the whole village, and was deemed a traitor. Satoru was never really the same after the KFC breakup. Neither were you, really. Satoru isolated himself, wallowing in grief until you pulled yourself out of your own grief and helped him out of his. You eventually became a couple, helping each other move on from Suguru. Both of you became teachers at Jujutsu High with the shared goal of reforming Jujutsu society.

..when we just shared a bed?

However, Satoru was far from the perfect boyfriend. Sure, he was hot, bought you expensive gifts, and only had eyes for you, but he was terrible with showing his affection. When you tried holding hands, he'd pull away. When you tried kissing or hugging him, he'd flinch and turn away. It was a trauma response, you knew that, but it still hurt. Satoru was still subconsciously scared that someone would breach his infinity once again, and scared to get too close to someone again, worried they would leave him. He only touched you when he needed touch, only kissed you when he needed it, only took you to bed when he needed you. You were tired of it, you had your needs too. You just didn't feel loved, didn't feel that he cared about your needs. So you broke up with him. Satoru was shocked and hurt when you told him. You weren't supposed to leave him. He didn't let it show, though, and just said okay.

How can you look at me and pretend, I'm someone you've never met?

It had been a few weeks since you broke up with him. He acted like normal, loud and cocky, but you knew he was hurting. He would glance at you, only for you to look away. It hurt him. How could you look at him and pretend you weren't just lovingly calling him Toru a few weeks ago? How could you pretend you weren't laying in his bed, curled up against him a few weeks ago? It hurt, hurt, hurt.

I'm holding on too tight, while you let go.

You seemed fine without him, and it pained Satoru to see it. He'd see you laugh and smile with your students, Shoko, and even Nanami. It hurt. You were already moving on while he was still hugging your old hoodie to his chest so he could sleep. He's sorry, he'll change. Really. But how could he tell you when you wouldn't even look at him? He didn't know what to do. He was never good at communicating, but he really wanted you back. He loved you. So, he did the least Satoru Gojo thing he could. He went out to drink. Something he hated since alcohol would lower his defenses.

A couple of drinks later (he was always a lightweight), he found himself drunkenly slumped against your door, his blindfold hanging loosely around his neck. He hesitates for a moment, but knocks anyway. He just needed to see you.
