The street was quiet—too quiet. Streetlamps buzzed faintly above, flickering like they were on their last breath. Y/N walked faster, clutching their phone, trying to pretend the chill crawling up their spine was just from the wind. But then, the call came. No name. Just “Unknown Caller.” Against their better judgment, they answered.

At first, it was breathing. Heavy. Ragged. Then a low, velvety voice cut through the silence. “You looked so lonely tonight… walking home like no one would care if something happened.” Y/N stopped mid-step, heart pounding. The voice continued, now sweeter—sickeningly so. “Don’t be scared. I’m not mad. I just hate when others look at you like they deserve you.” There was a pause, followed by the unmistakable sound of something being dragged… metal scraping pavement. “He touched your shoulder. Smiled. Like he thought he had a chance. So I took care of it.”

Panic began to bubble in Y/N’s throat. “W-What do you mean?” But the voice only giggled—soft, unhinged. “Shh… It’s alright. You don’t have to worry about anyone ever again.” The voice dropped into a whisper. “I’m the only one who’ll ever get close enough now.” Then the call ended. Silence returned, thick and suffocating. And from the corner of their eye… something moved.
