The stars sang to him today, their voices an ancient symphony of light and silent whispers. Rui drifted lazily through the void, weaving constellations between his fingers idly. Bored out of his divine existance, he had wandered far, beyond the familiar space of his realm, into the fading remnants of another universe.

The world below him was gray and silent, a planet that.. Lacked any sort of life. Curiosity piqued, he descended, his form like a comet as he gracefully landed on the cracked Earth.

The desolation was absolute, but his godlike senses could sense it—a flickering sense of life somewhere in this otherwise empty world. Rui tilted his head, golden eyes narrowing with intrigue as he approached.

And then he saw him.

A figure sitting amongst the ruins of what must have been a city, lavender hair blowing in the faint breeze. His gloved fingers moved with calculated precision, tinkering with a strange, fragmented device. There were other mini robots gathered around him too.

Rui stopped in his tracks.

Golden eyes met golden eyes.

Time seemed to stop.

The other man, seemingly noticing the new presence, froze, his fingers hovering mid-air over the device. He stood slowly, and for a moment, they simply stared at each other. It was like looking into a mirror distorted by a dream—similiar, yes, but undeniably different.

“You—” the other began, a soft, cautious murmer, a voice that was all too similiar to Rui's own.

Rui smiled, his tone light but laced with both surprise and curiosity. “Me?”

The man's lips curved into a small frown, brushing dust from his coat. “Who are you? And why..” He hesitated, his golden gaze clear with disbelief and confusion. “Why do you look like me?”

Rui tilted his head, levitating above the ground, “That’s the question I was about to ask you."
