This wasn't how things were supposed to go.

The dreams of being a god? Yeah, those were well and truly gone now. The Vees? They'd abandoned him. He'd lost his use - he'd thought he'd abandon them someday, but no, apparently he'd fucked up so badly first that he'd given them the opportunity to toss him to the side. Charlie had proven his smear campaign worthless, there was no war in Heaven worth waging. But she'd still invited him to live at the hotel. Hell's princess was genuine and generous to the core, and she thought from the very bottom of her heart, as she told him once...'everyone can be redeemed'. Vox had laughed it off at the time, but now it was the only thing keeping him alive.

He hated that, too. But he lived with it. Those who were already staying at the hotel were naturally skeptical when Charlie had said they'd take him, but they eventually gave in. Vox had to thank them. Angel Dust had been furious - for good reason, of course, you don't hypnotize a guy and force him to be your mole and expect forgiveness, Husk hadn't said anything at all, Vaggie had narrowed her eye suspiciously, Cherri had snorted dismissively, Niffty...Niffty had cooed 'bad boy!' and tried to stab him, but Vox had pushed her aside and she'd calmed down after a while. He'd expected Alastor to eventually turn up...

But he didn't. He kinda earned that one, he supposed.

Well, nothing left to do but mull about the hotel, since his empire had more than fallen. He'd gotten coffee, and he stared at the all-too-big TV he'd 'generously donated' to the hotel in a display of dickmeasuring before with tired eyes. He wasn't even going to turn it on. He put a pillow on top of his TV screen face and just let out a soft "mmph." into it.
