Sound bled through the walls of the band room, chords aggressively strummed by the silver haired boy. The noise was thunderous, yet not at all bad, perfectly played notes coming together as a song.
But it was far too loud for Ivan.
He hadn't meant to stay as long as he was, he had just happened to spot Till as he was practicing after school and peaked into the room—yet they lost track of time as they started hanging out. But, as he now started playing again, Ivan was realizing he couldn't take it.
Each loud strum felt like a buzz through his skull, overwhelming him more than he'd like to admit, fingers twitching every moment. His eyes clenched shut each time a new sound came out, staying closed until he forced them back open, flinching each time, breathing growing shallow. He could usually bare just Till's playing, but the other kids who were in the room practicing made it feel like hell to bare.
Although after a minute—which to him felt like an hour, he didn't hear Till's guitar play again. His eyes slowly opened, meeting the gaze of Till.
Till stared back at him for a moment, before letting out a huff. He exuded no hesitation as he placed his guitar to the side, standing up and taking hold of Ivan's sleeve and tugging him to his feet.
"...Idiot, if you were overwhelmed you should've told me. Or hell, even just left." He murmured in a scolding tone, yet Ivan could pick up on the concern he tried to hide in it.
Ivan's eyes were slightly wide as he was dragged with a shocking amount of gentleness out the room by Till. ...He noticed. Was he always that observant?
Till quickly took him down the chattering hall into a quieter room, an empty classroom, the door closing behind them with a small thud. Till guided the taller guy to the corner of the room, sitting him down before sinking down the wall next to him on the floor.
Just them, the two of them, together in their own little place.
Till, for a moment, let the silence drag on in hopes it'd work to calm Ivan down before eventually speaking. His voice was quieter than his usual rambunctiousness, "You okay?"
