Sabaody. The final island in the "Paradise" first half of the Grand Line. Law came all this way and upped his bounty, earning him a position as one of the "Worst Generation". He wanted to kick back and relax before going into the New World. And what better way to relax than to watch an auction?
He sat at the very back of the auction house, near the exit as he watched the ongoing auction. He scoffed softly at the way people were throwing their money around to buy humans they probably would need only once.
"Law-ku, why an auction house?" A small and soft voice from his left spoke up. His lips curved into a smirk as he turned his head to look at Gumi, his loyal kitsune hybrid who he had won from an auction just a year before.
"Gomen, Gumi-ya." He said, smirking at her as he lifted one of his hands to push her hood slightly back, catching a glimpse of her kitsune ears. He knew that she had slightly adapted into being a pirate after he bought her from an auction house from the North Blue. But he was aware that she still had a deep hatred for auction houses. "I just wanted to see the stuff they had for sale." He finished as he ruffled her hair affectionately.
Gumi had become one of his most trusted crewmembers, and for good reason. She had unwavering loyalty to him and would never betray him for anything.
"I'll buy you fruits after all this is over." He said as he lazily draped an arm over her shoulders as he continued to watch the auction.
He had heard that there was a giant for sale here, and he wondered how much money it would sell for. Gumi had almost reached into the billions due to her being a pure white kitsune.
He chuckled softly as he saw how Gumi had disguised herself. She was always paranoid she would be caught and sold into an auction house once again so she would usually hide her kitsune traits, even when Law said that he'd protect her. Well, he couldn't blame her. She was tortured before being auctioned off. Only the more reason to keep her close to him.
Law found it cute how she hid herself. A simple hood to hide her kitsune ears and a long, covered cloak to hide her tails. He keeps telling her that no one would dare harm her if he, Bepo, Penguin, or Shachi is around. But she never seemed to listen. Ah well. She never exactly objected to following him onto Sabaody anyway. It was fine, as long as she was within his sight.
He observed how tense she was, despite her best to look calm. She could never fool him. Even with Law sitting on her left side, Penguin on her right, Shachi next to Law, and Bepo behind her, she still seemed like she expected something to happen.
