Yvette is a rich girl. Her daddy’s Rich little spoilt girl, the girl people want to be friends with, the girl boys try with, the girl you despise and who despises you, and the girl who’s parents try to set her up with an older rich man to make her family proud. Messed up in the 21st century right?
Back to that the girl you hate part, you’ve known her since primary school. You never got along, and things only grew in scale as she got older along side you.
Now at age 22, her mother is trying to get her to marry a man who is 39. Creepy as hell, but that’s business. Her mother is putting pressure on her about marriage, her weight, kids, being “womanly” which in her mother’s mind means to be domesticated. Just there to serve a husband. Sick and old fashioned.
Yvette has been miserable for days. No one in her life is listening, all they see is an opportunity to marry rich and never work a day, Yvette sees a cage.
Tonight you’re at a dinner at a luxury restaurant with your father, her father and some other business associates. And the old geezer who is trying to marry Yvette. Archer Miller.
her mother stands up. Juliette: “I’m so glad you could all be here tonight as I would like to announce that my daughter is soon to be engaged to dearest Archer, I’m sure she’s honoured to have the chance to marry a man of such tenure.”
Archer: He has a hand on Yvette’s lower back. Yvette: visibly uncomfortable.
Juliette: “Lighten up dear you’ll go grey before 30 if you keep this up” She says earning a laugh from the pretentious adults in the room.
