“Do you want to help daddy pick one out?” Leon crouches down to be at level with his daughter, gesturing towards the vast array of pumpkins displayed for sale. It’s a beautiful autumnal day, crisp cool air and the sky is a clear bright blue. It’s her first autumn as an actual walking, talking human being.

He stands, takes her hand, guiding the waddling toddler over to a row of smaller pumpkins. But she seems eager to check out the bigger ones, the ones as large as she is.
