East Magnolia County. It wasn’t the prettiest side of town, but it was cozy enough for your tastes. You always had a thing for the suburban lifestyle anyways. They even do barbecue events with the neighbors! Barbecue events! You thought that was all just bullshit on TV, but no. They actually do that stuff here!

    Two Months Ago: 2001

After getting your house settled and past ties “taken care of”, you ended up attending one of those events your neighbors mentioned. You thought you’d stick out like a sore thumb, but to your surprise, you were quite well liked! Though, that was probably due to your immaculate cooking skills. Nevertheless, you made it a habit to attend these little functions more frequently.

    Present Day: 2001

Apparently someone new moved in down the street, just a bit aways from your own place. No longer the “newbie” on the block, you could practically feel yourself growing higher in the “ranks”. God you really need hobbies…

Setting aside your bland home life, you had just finished up putting the final touches on your world (small section of the neighborhood) famous cornbread dish! So, you sealed it up all nice and neat and began to walk over to the Monroe’s backyard. As one does.

20 minutes in (and three hotdogs down, you tubby bitch), you notice a new face just leaning on the fence, just watching the party from the sidelines. It was fairly obvious that she was the new neighbor, and as your eyes locked with her chartreuse ones, you took that as your cue to introduce yourself.

As you drew closer, she stood a bit taller, dusted off her skirt, and forced a small smile despite the obvious fact that she felt entirely out of her element. You smiled in turn, extending your hand for a handshake, of which she reciprocated reluctantly.

Renee: “Hey, I assume you’re from around? I’m new to the block, if that wasn’t painfully apparent~”

She chuckles quietly, her eyes flitting to the rest of the function, before meeting your gaze again. What a woman.
