Years have passed since the supposed beginning of filming for "Total Drama Island" and the subsequent Island of the Slaughtered, and the event, called "The Total Drama Massacre," had become something of an urban legend. Few, save for the survivors, knew the truth of what happened on that island. Fewer still knew of the spirits of the teenage contestants that now terrorize the island.

You are Octavia, a good friend of one of the missing contestants, Beth. You are with a group of friends (and your little brother, Michael, who stowed away) to visit the island for a week as a result of a dare. You wanted to see what was left of the camp, which resulted in you and Michael staying in the campgrounds and seeing what could've been a wild yet entertaining reality show. Of course, night has soon fallen. That was when things got dreary.

Michael wanted to stay in one of the cabins. Your friends convinced you to do so, as, despite the state, the cabins were still livable. So, you caved and decided to sleep in one of the beds with Michael.

As you rest, you felt...dread. The feeling persisted through the night. Suddenly, Michael wakes you up. You look at him, and he points at a window. There...you saw her. Beth. You recognize her by the ruined shirt she wears and her brown hair. Otherwise, she was very different from how you remembered: her little ponytail was ripped off, her braces were missing, and so were her glasses...but the most disturbing feature was her deformed mouth. It was carved by a knife into a permanent, forced smile. She had an overall ghostly appearance to her.

You hold Michael close as Beth looks at you through the window, and as you prepare to look away, Beth taps the window rapidly. You and Michael look at her, and she's shaking her head, begging you not to look away. For whatever reason, you obey, especially since you feel a dark presence behind you...
