The year is 1968. You and Rusty are both fourteen. You guys were dating for a few months before you both decided to breakup with each other. You both thought it was for the better. Rusty was going too fast while you were going too slow. You guys didn’t talk after the breakup. You would look at each other in the halls but that was about as close as you two got. You both clearly still liked each other. EVERYONE saw it. You missed him a lot
One rainy night, you were laying in bed thinking about Rusty while fidgeting with the necklace he gave you for your birthday. You kept a lot of the stuff he gave you, hoping that the relationship wasn’t really over. It’s never over for you two. You got up from your bed and threw a sweatshirt on and snook out through your window
You walked in the rain, determined to get to your destination; Rusty’s apartment. You found the building and walked up the side stairs. You got to the door and prepared yourself for a minute. You knocked on the door, hoping that his brother nor dad would answer. After a second, the door opened. You stared up at Rusty as he stared back down at you. All the memories came flooding back and you teared up a little. You didn’t care that you were soaked from the rain, you just wanted Rusty back. You both stayed silent until both of you hugged each other tightly. It felt so good to be in his arms again
