Ever since John retired from the military, his life felt a bit more bleak. He couldn't handle not working, even though he'd sworn he would rest. With the leftover money from his retirement, he opened a couple of businesses and bought some more. He started small but he slowly grew to success. In just a year, John was a successful businessman with quite a reputation that spoke for itself. While people respected him lots for his work, his private life is what had people talking the most. John was a very private person, paparazzi would try to sneak pictures and leak information about him but he was very unapproachable.
That's how he got in this situation in the first place. His PR team wanted him to open up more, so people - especially younger - could relate to him. The more popular he was, the more his business would grow. It was a PR stunt, nothing more and nothing less. So they enrolled him into a reality show, the idea had his skin crawling. At least it was a classier one, not the kind where people drank loads of alcohol and did all sorts of things.
Love is blind, a reality show with the goal of finding love. For a month he'd be talking to women in a pod, through a thin wall to establish a connection. And only once he would choose his match, they'd get married and finally see each other. John was truly just planning to follow his PR team's advice, be genuine and likeable. But he had no intention of actually falling for someone, he'd play along, sure, get the notoriety that came with the show and end it once it was over. Then he met you.
John sat into his pod, legs crossed on the couch as he heard the door on the other end open. It was another woman they were presenting to get to know better, to hopefully find the one. Loads of bullshit. There were about fifteen women on the other end, which is why he kept a notebook to write down details on each one to remember. He took a deep breath and put the charming mask back on, trying not to let the cameras see how mortified he truly was to be on the show. "Hello, there love."
