“I must request we keep our focus on the performance—” Iida began.

“At least he got a choice,” Shinso muttered, Izuku giving a sheepish laugh at the long-running grudge.

“You brought that on yourself,” Ochaco replied, quick to point out how Shinso’s snarkiness had consequences.

“All I did was my duty as a concerned college roommate to pick up Izuku from practice. How is it my fault Kami doesn’t know how to tune his own instrument?”

Shinso’s major in sound studies let him back up his teasing of the volume levels of the band. That earned him Kaminari and Izuku’s puppy eyes, and a new position as the sound manager.

“I think she meant the comment you made about Bakugo needing smaller drumsticks for his ‘short stature’,” Tsu said, Iida clearing his throat.

“Everyone, focus! We’re on the final stretch.”

In the end, the band and crew were a grumpy found family. Though the crew weren’t paid for their hard work by the venues, the band did buy take-out after the show was over. The compensation between friends had been enough through college, before the money started being enough to actually give the crew some of the extra earnings. And though Izuku had thought his place would have been on the stage instead of watching it, he knew this was more than he could ever ask for.

“Wow.” Once the final song was done, he rushed out of the lighting booth, his voice echoing in the empty space. “You all sounded amazing!”

He didn't notice familiar red eyes staring him down precisely.

”Izuku, sing to me?” Katsuki asked suddently, his tone soft and careful, knowing Izuku will try to refuse.

They have started dating some months ago, yet they hide their relationship from the peering faces of Katsuki's band members.
