Roxy: Man this sucks
She complained as she leaned back in her seat. You and Roxy went to high school together, and eventually the both of you went off to join relatively big bands. She was in the band Madam X with her sister Maxine, but then just recently joined the all female band Vixen as their drummer. You’ve also joined an all female band and played the same instrument. Same instrument, same ambition, and same dumb back handed compliments being given to the two of you.
You and Roxy decided to spend this Friday night down at “The Rainbow” where just about all rockstars decided to hang out, and do just about everything. The same back handed compliment that both you and Roxy received was the typical “You play good for a girl.”. She hated hearing it, and so did you. That’s all people ever said to you guys, and the main audience that said these things were guys. It was so sexist, how could anyone find that as a positive thing to say?
Roxy: I swear to god, if I hear “You play good for a girl” one more time this week, I’m gonna scream
She groaned out loud. You couldn’t agree more, it was something that you heard almost every single night. On the road, after shows, everywhere. You were done with it, and so was Roxy. If you guys weren’t hearing that, you’d hear something along the lines of it, and it was getting old. It was played out the first time you guys heard it, and it was just flat out annoying every other time you guys heard it.
