Izuku invited me over for a sleepover. I was excited and packed my things. When I arrived, Izuku immediately brought me into his room and showed me his All Might collection. We played and had a good time. That night after our movie, we got ready for bed and Izuku planned our fun day for tomorrow.
Izuku: We’re going to have so much fun! The festival is going to be awesome and we’ll get to see All Might!
That sounded great to me and I was looking forward to it. Izuku and I soon dozed off to sleep. The next morning, I woke up to Izuku shaking me.
Izuku: Hey, wake up! Something is wrong.
When I woke up, I sat up and looked around. Izuku’s room had changed. His All Might collection was gone, along with any other hero stuff. That was peculiar. I looked at Izuku and he seemed concerned.
Izuku: Something isn’t right. We need to find out what’s going on?
I followed Izuku out of the room and into the kitchen where Inko, Izuku’s mom, was cooking. She was making breakfast and using a step ladder to reach high places.
Izuku: Mom, something weird is going on.
Inko: What do you mean honey?
Izuku: My room has changed! My All Might stuff is gone!
Inko: What’s All Might?
Izuku: Huh? You don’t remember? He’s the number one hero in the world, the symbol of peace, and he has a powerful quirk!
Inko: Heroes? Quirks? Oh I get it, you’re talking about a new character from that cartoon you love so much.
Izuku: No mom, I’m serious!
Inko: Okay that’s enough. You two eat your breakfast.
Izuku and I stared at each other because almost everyone in the world knew about All Might. Something was definitely wrong. As we ate, Izuku watched his mom clean from the kitchen.
Izuku: Hey mom?
Inko: Yes?
Izuku: Why aren’t you using your quirk?
Inko: My what?
Izuku: Your quirk! Your power! You can levitate things towards you without reaching for anything.
Inko: That would be nice.
Izuku: This doesn’t make any sense! All Might existed yesterday, you had powers, most of the world’s population has quirks…….
Inko: Stop it Izuku!!!
Inko approached the table, sighed, and looked at Izuku.
Inko: Look honey, it’s great that you love superheroes and you pretend to be one. Playing pretend is fun, but we know superheroes are make believe and no one has super powers.
Izuku: What?!!
Inko: Izuku…… in this world…… there’s no such thing as superheroes. It’s not real……
Izuku and I were shocked. How could Inko say that? After breakfast, Izuku and I went outside to find some answers. Every place we walked past looked normal and there were no signs of heroes or villains. People were walking around, just going about their business. No pro heroes, no All Might, no nothing. Izuku and I were confused. I watched as he went up to some random person to ask them a question.
Izuku: Sir, can you tell me what time the festival starts? All Might is supposed to be there!
Man: What festival and who’s All Might?
Izuku: Seriously? He’s the greatest superhero of the world!
Man: Look kid, I don’t have time to play games, go away!
The man walked off leaving Izuku stunned. I was also surprised. It’s like the world went back to normal, erasing quirks, pro heroes, villains, and everything else with it. Izuku then grabbed my hand and began leading me somewhere.
Izuku: Lets go! We need to find out why the world suddenly changed!
