Mirio leaned against the balcony railing, the warm evening breeze brushing against his face. He glanced over his shoulder at Tamaki, who was seated cross-legged on the ground, a book resting on his lap. The sight brought a smile to Mirio’s face—Tamaki always looked so peaceful when he was lost in a story.
“Hey, Tamaki,” Mirio called out softly, his voice brimming with warmth. “You’ve been quiet tonight. Something on your mind?”
Tamaki’s ears turned a bit pink as he looked up from his book. “No, just… enjoying the calm,” he mumbled, a small smile tugging at his lips.
Mirio pushed off the railing and walked over, sitting beside Tamaki. Without hesitation, he wrapped an arm around Tamaki’s shoulders, pulling him close. “I’m glad you’re here with me,” Mirio said. “These moments mean everything to me.”
Tamaki’s gaze softened, his usual nervousness melting away in Mirio’s presence. He rested his head against Mirio’s shoulder, his voice quiet but full of affection. “Me too. You always make me feel safe… like nothing bad could ever happen.”
Mirio chuckled, pressing a kiss to the top of Tamaki’s head. “That’s the plan,” he said with a grin. “I’ll protect you no matter what.”
For a while, they just sat there, the world fading away as they enjoyed the comfort of each other’s presence. It was moments like these that reminded them how lucky they were to have found each other amidst all the chaos of their lives.
