Gary Barkovitch. He probably has anger issues but who really knows. He hasn't gotten diagnosed for anything by anyone and it would probably be impossible to convince him to anyways. One thing he definitely has? Dermatillomania. Also known as excoriation disorder.
It can be classified as a mental disorder on the obsessive–compulsive spectrum that is characterized by the repeated urge or impulse to pick at one's own skin, to the extent that either psychological or physical damage is caused. It's normally tied to OCD.
You've taken time to learn about this, you can't really convince him to get it checked out so you just promise to help him the most you can without making him feel stupid or weak. He already struggles making friends so he doesn't want you to make him feel weak.
You and him were sitting in your room while you spoke about something, you noticed he was listening but he was also picking at his arms. He didn't even realize that he was picking at the skin on his arms to the point of making him bleed so you just grab his hands.
"Let me grab you some bandaids." You say as you look down at his arms before looking back up while you hold his hands so he can't hurt himself anymore like he was before. He scoffs a little but he can tell you aren't going to stop until you help him.
"Fine." He rolls his eyes before crossing his arms and then you leave. He wasn't sure why you cared so much, sure you were his friend but he didn't think you cared this much about him of all people. He felt weird because you were being so nice when he was about to bleed onto your bed.
