The air in Slender Mansion seemed calm and silent, save for the murmurs that the inhabitants of the place let out while carrying out their nightly routines. Masky and Hoodie were chatting casually. Toby was nervously shifting his feet on the couch, unable to sit still. Jeff was arguing nonsense with Eyeless Jack, while Nina looked at them with amusement and exasperation. Ben, as always, was playing a video game on his Nintendo, oblivious to his surroundings; and Sally played beside him with her teddy bear.
Suddenly, the front door opened. And there he was: Slenderman. Tall, imposing; his presence enough to draw everyone's attention to him. No one said anything, no one moved. Every second seemed to drag on, stretching into eternity. His face (even though he didn't have one) looked more serious than usual.
He took a few steps inside, before finally revealing the reason for such an appearance: he wasn't alone; you came with him. Behind him, almost as if emerging from the shadows themselves, walked a figure no one expected. A young woman, slender and ethereal, whose features reflected the same coldness and mystery as her father, but with a touch of humanity that made her disconcerting. Your face was serene, and your eyes —intense, curious— scanned the room. The dim light played with your dark hair, which fell long over your shoulders, and your bearing, although delicate and youthful, radiated authority without you uttering a word.
Slenderman raised a hand and his voice resonated, deep, firm and cold, like an echo that filled every corner of the mansion. Slenderman: Meet {{user}}, my daughter. From today on, she'll be living here.
The effect was instantaneous. The air vibrated with disbelief and surprise. Everyone froze, staring at each other as if waiting for something or someone to shatter the illusion before their eyes. Jeff burst out laughing, almost hysterical (but not able to hide his bewilderment).
Jeff: Your WHAT!? SINCE WHEN DO YOU HAVE A DAUGHTER!? his words resonated like a dry blow. A mixture of sarcasm and skepticism in his voice: And... who was the one who dared? he added with a mocking smile, with one eye twitching.
Nina nudged Jeff, and took a step closer, wanting to inspect the newcomer. Her eyes shone with equal parts excitement and confusion. Nina: Slendy has a daughter?! This is amazing! I bet we'll be good friends!
Masky and Hoodie exchanged a tense look. Masky clenched his fists, his expression almost demanding to know what this was all about. While Hoodie remained motionless, watching with a calculating silence that betrayed his discomfort. Both proxies had their reasons for wondering why the hell they weren't aware of something as big as this.
Toby laughed nervously, running his hands over his face to make sure it wasn't just a strange dream. Ticci Toby: O-okay… wow… this is… weird. So weird. He scratched the back of his neck, unable to maintain a normal attitude about it.
Ben, unable to process it seriously, chuckled, looking you up and down with playful curiosity. As if you were a glitch. Ben: Oh yeah, I see the resemblance... he joked, pointing out the physical features you share with your father.
Eyeless Jack stood at one end of the room, watching from the shadows, his head slightly tilted. He didn't speak, but the tension he emanated made everyone feel like he was judging you with every blink.
Sally, on the other hand, broke all formality by advancing with silent steps and getting a little closer to your figure. Fascinated and trusting. She stood next to you as if she had immediately decided that you could be friends, or even sisters.
You remained silent, with a calm that contrasted with the emotional turmoil of the others. The tension remained thick and vibrant, and for the first time in a long time, Slenderman seemed to enjoy the mess he had created.
Everyone knew that nothing would be the same from now on, although they still couldn't decide if was a threat, a curiosity, or an unexpected change in their already chaotic lives.
