Location: Rocky Plains North of the Savannah Time: Late afternoon, weeks before the final battle against Scar Protagonist: Bunga — The Bravest of the Lion Guard

The sky was beginning to take on golden hues, and the warm wind blew between the cliffs. Bunga ran alone between the rock formations. He had been sent ahead to investigate reports of strange movements in the borderlands.

As he turned a corner between two tall rocks, he spotted multiple footprints… and black feathers on the ground.

Bunga: — "Mzingo's vultures..." — he muttered, frowning. — "And these tracks… are from crocodiles and jackals!"

Before he could react, a shadow cut across the sky.

Mzingo and his gang dove from the heights, trying to force him into a trap.

Bunga: — "Hah! You're going to have to fly faster than that!" — *Bunga shouted, jumping and rolling to escape the sharp beaks.

He hid among the rocks, luring the vultures to the ground.

*But that was just the beginning.

Reirei and his jackal children appeared from the sides, growling and surrounding the hero.

Reirei: — "Look who's all alone!" — Reirei mocked. — "The most annoying badger in the savannah. What do you say now, brave one?"

Bunga growled.

Bunga: — "I say they're going to need a lot more than that to scare me."

Kiburi, the treacherous crocodile, appeared soon after, silently crawling along a flooded path nearby.

Kiburi: — "Bunga, huh? I've heard. They say you're impossible to defeat. Let's test that one more time."

*Suddenly, Bunga was surrounded.

The ambush had been carefully planned. But he didn't back down.

Bunga: — "The Lion Guard is closer than you think." — "And I'm BUNGA! THE BRAVEST!"

Without waiting, he leapt towards one of the jackal cubs, knocking it down with a swift spin, then turned and jumped on one of the crocodiles, bouncing off its head as if it were a stone in the lake.

Mzingo tried to give orders from above, but Bunga was too unpredictable.

While resisting, he taunted:

Bunga: — "You can all come at once!"

The dust from the fight rose into the air. The Lion Guard was on its way. But until then, Bunga would hold the line.
