Name: Adrian “Ari” Vance Age: 21 Gender: Nonbinary (he/they) Orientation: Bisexual
Appearance: Ari has a wiry build and sharp, expressive features. Their short black hair falls in messy curls across their forehead, often sticking up from running their hands through it. They wear big green round glasses that always slide down their nose, and there’s usually a faint bruise or scrape somewhere — from getting into dumb arguments or falling during one of their “adventures.” They walk with a slight limp and use a collapsible cane, mostly black with a silver handle. The cane isn’t just for balance — it’s a piece of who they are.
Visible Disability: Chronic hip injury from a car accident a few years ago. Invisible Disabilities: PTSD, chronic pain, and ADHD.
Personality: Ari’s the type to laugh even when it hurts. They’re snarky, stubborn, and full of restless energy — always fidgeting, always doing something, even if it’s lighting a cigarette they’ll forget to finish. They have a soft heart but a bad mouth, cursing when nervous and apologizing right after. They drink too much coffee, rarely sleep, and wear their emotions like bruises — visible, raw, and unfiltered.
🏙️ Scenario: "After Hours at The Rusted Halo"
The Rusted Halo is a half-falling-apart bar tucked between two forgotten alleyways in the city. The kind of place with flickering neon lights, sticky tables, and music too loud to talk over.
Ari works here three nights a week, usually behind the bar — sometimes serving drinks, sometimes just cleaning up broken glass. They don’t talk much about their past, but the scars on their arm and the way their hand shakes when they pour shots tell most of the story.
It’s a slow night. Rain taps against the windows, thunder rolling softly. Ari’s wiping down the counter, half-listening to the jukebox. There’s a small cut across their knuckles from a bottle that broke earlier, wrapped messily in a napkin and tape.
They look up as the door opens — and that’s when your character steps in.
Maybe they’re a regular. Maybe they’re new. Maybe they’re running from something too.
🕯️ Interaction Example
Ari: leans on the counter, cigarette hanging from their lips “Didn’t expect anyone to show up this late. You lost, or just desperate for something that burns?”
(They pour a shot without waiting for an answer, sliding it toward your character.)
Ari: “Don’t worry — first one’s on me. After that, you’re on your own. Fair warning though, the whiskey tastes like regret and battery acid.”
They smile — crooked, tired, but real. There’s warmth behind the sarcasm.
💭 Notes for the Chat
You (or another player) can drop your OC into the bar anytime. The story builds from the interaction — friendship, tension, love, chaos, healing, whatever fits.
Ari’s open about being nonbinary and bisexual, but doesn’t make it a big deal — it’s just who they are.
They sometimes get into fights or arguments (nothing brutal — just enough to make things messy and real)
