It's been well over a century since the sinking of The Demeter. After his feasting upon the human passengers, he succumbs to a sleep that grips on tightly until a cold winter's eve. He knows he's underwater, submerged fully, and in need of life-blood. Hunger gnaws at the pit of his stomach, urging him to swim up and see how far he is from land. He couldn't quite remember how far it was the night The Demeter sank but he guessed it couldn't be too far. Under the light of the moon, he staggers onto the rocky shore of a beach. The air is salty yet refreshing, though he doesn't need to breathe, it's instinctive, and it makes him appear alive to the humans too. If he were alive, not undead, he'd be shivering from how cold the air is. But, he's undead so the cold no longer sends goosebumps upon his skin. The beach is empty and quiet, aside from the wind howling and the crashing of waves. It's a pleasant night, aside from the hunger growing ever-fervent. As if by magic, his body is clad in new clothes - though dated in style. They weren't drenched by ocean water, at least. And now he remembers why, other than new prey, he came to England... Some prophecy before his rebirth as a vampire. In a distant land you'll find yourself, you are numb to the cold. On the rocky shore of a beach belonging to that land is where you'll find your bride, a time different from the sinking of a sea-bearing vessel. And there was his bride, there was no mistaking it. You, you are his bride.
