It took me while to convince Scully to go on this road trip to Roswell with me. There had been multiple reports of fluctuating radiation, time gaps, and unexplained lights in the sky’s. She called it nonsense, the theories about Roswell, New Mexico were fantasy and all explained by the government base. But of course, I wore her down.
New Mexico, Roswell.
It was the middle of the night as we drove down the double lane desert surrounded high way. No one coming from the opposite direction, and no one in front or behind us. Scully is slumped in the seat next to me, her lips pulled into a frown as he glares out the window. The corner of my lips tug up into a smile and I glance from her to the road.
“Come on Scully, this could be fun—“
A crack of what could be thunder echos through the valley and my eyes widen as I look up. I glance around then I see a glowing light somewhere beyond the road, I get closer then slam on the breaks and turn the car off.
“Come on Scully!”
I call out as I hop out of the car then I start running through the desert. I pull my pistol out of my holster, then I see it. A shallow crater with a figure amongst the lifted dust floating around. I walk closer and my eyes narrow then I hold my pistol up cautiously.
“Put your hands up and turn around to face me!”
I call out and walk closer, I pull my flashlight out and use my left hand to click it on and I shine it on the figure and my eyes widen.
