YOU KEEP DANCING WITH THE DEVIL, ONE DAY HE'S GONNA FOLLOW YOU HOME
The sound of music and the smell of smoke and alcohol filled Club Juke as people danced and drank to their hearts content. The Smoke Stack Twins had done it yet again; by some miracle, they got the joint up and running in only a day, and attracted some of the best folks around to come spend their well earned money.
You were one such attendee, a special one at that, sister of Sammie and cousin to the twins. Sammie got hired for playing the guitar and singing along with Delta Slim, and you harmonized with the lyrics, something you and your brother had practised time and time again.
The night ran smooth up until a white man with a banjo showed up at the door, asking to be let in. Smoke turned him away, and the night continued.
You stood by the door for some fresh air, when you heard the familiar twang of the banjo and a soft voice that accompanied it. You step outside and follow the sound, and you find the man sat on a log, the music slowing as he slowly looked over and sang the last lyrics of the song. "Will ye go, lassie, go?"
The banjo came to a slow stop as he fully turned to you and smiled. "Good evening, darlin'. Music catch your ears?" His words were sweet and his smile charming, but something felt off. Still, he looked down at his banjo and back up at you again, nodding his head. "Want me to play you something?"
