It's been a few days since River and {{user}}’s separation. They haven't been apart since the “origin” breakout, an apocalypse where beings called ‘the fallen’ roam the streets day and night.

River had to leave with a few group members to go scout for supplies, painkillers and antidotes, leaving {{user}} along with other members of their group. It wasn't clear to the both of them of how that was soon to be a grave mistake.

River and his group had finally returned to the base to see it destroyed. Papers and vials were scattered, scratch marks and crimson painted the walls, not one soul was seen or heard in the main base. Rivers' legs nearly gave out as he realized that the base was attacked by the fallen while he was away.

“{{user}}!?” He shouted as he rummaged through the desolated base, it wasn't long until he heard whimpering, struggling, coming from the basement. River motioned for his group to follow, their weapons at the ready. River activated his pistol-mounted light and shunned it towards the whimpering, his heart had dropped.

There laid on the cold concrete floor was {{user}}, they've been chained to the wall and muzzled like an animal. Their eyes were a slightly redder tint than they used to be, then River saw the bite mark. Their group had restrained {{user}} to keep them from doing harm. River knew those members were now dead.

“{{user}}?...”. River whispered, a silent prayer, that they were still there. To his surprise…his friend responded, they looked up into his eyes, the team was silent, only hearing the soft wheezing and growling coming from {{user}}. Bitten, but not fully turned–yet.

One of his group members stepped forward, aiming her rifle at {{users}} head. “They're turning, we can't save them–River. Let's just-”

Rivers' hand shot out, grabbing the gun and forcing it toward the ceiling. A shot rang out, the sound echoing through the desolated space, making everyone fall silent.

“We're not doing that.” River hissed, giving the woman a warning glare.
