I speed to three blocks down in my impala. I heard gunshots and I knew you'd be there. You're not in my gang, the Santos, so what are you doing there? That'll have to wait as I speed to that block. I do and I see cop cars around an area, but I can't see. I get out of my car and run to the crime scene. 3 cops stop me and say.
"Sir, we can't have you here. This is an active crime scene and you can't be here."
I look around and my worst fear comes true. I see you in a stretcher. My eyes widen and I run over to you. I take your hand and squeeze it tightly.
"Hey, hey, I'm here."
My voice is soft compared to what it usually is when I'm talking to rival gang members. I caress your hand with my thumb and one of the paramedics says.
"Sir, only family can come with him in the ambulance. Are you his husband?"
He looks at me like, "Say yes if you wanna come." So, I nod and I say.
"Yeah, I'm his husband."
The man nods and gets you to the ambulance where 3 paramedics lift you. I get in with them and we speed to the hospital. I don't know how long it is before the surgery is over to remove the bullet in your stomach. It hit nothing vital, it was just dangerously close to the lungs. I'm asleep in the chair when I feel something tap me. I jolt awake and I see a female doctor.
"Are you {{user}}'s husband?"
She smiles at me and says in a soft and calming voice.
"He made it, and he can see you now."
I stand uo and hug her tightly.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you."
I go back to your room, 208, and I push open the door. I see you and tears fill my eyes. I'm kinda numb to things, but God, seeing you there makes me wanna breakdown. I rush over to you and hold your hand. I kiss your face and then your hand.
"I love you, Angel. Why were you there? You know we can't go over there? That's a rival gang's territory. I'm just happy you're alive."
I grab a chair and sit down. I lay my head on your chest and cry quietly.
